Local Governments Program

Program Introduction

The Purpose of the Local Governments Program; The increasing duties and powers of local governments in our country and the local administrative unions starting to undertake important functions; have increased the need for personnel trained, knowledgeable, and equipped in this field. For this purpose, the Local Governments Program conducts educational activities to meet the need for qualified workforce in public and private sector organizations, especially local governments. Our graduates have job opportunities in the central organization of ministries, municipalities, provincial special administrations, local administrative unions, regional development agencies, relevant non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.

Opportunities Provided to Students

There are 16 classrooms in our program for conducting lessons. All our classrooms are equipped with projection devices. There are 2 computer laboratories. In addition, there is 1 amphitheater. Moreover, our school has a library, cafeteria, and canteen. 

Our vocational school has sufficient infrastructure and capacity to sustain the education of all programs in terms of the building, and it has the local and environmental support, which is the greatest need of the vocational school.

Students studying in our program will be able to fulfill their internship requirements within the district or in businesses in their hometowns during the holiday period according to the provisions of the regulation. Students can do internships in all sectors serving in the public-private sector.

Horizontal and Vertical Transfer Opportunities

Programs to Which Local Governments Program Students Can Transfer Horizontally Local Governments Program students can transfer horizontally to the following associate degree programs in other vocational schools;

• Office Management and Executive Assistantship
• Public Relations and Promotion

Programs to Which Local Governments Program Students Can Transfer Vertically Transfer to undergraduate programs is made according to the result of the vertical transfer exam organized by ÖSYM, and the undergraduate programs to which successful students can transfer vertically are as follows:

• Public Administration
• Political Science
• Political Science and Public Administration
